Both take up the same amount of space so it is better to go for a towel holder that has two bars or rails. To go one further, you may want to buy one that comes with a shelf. This provides space for two large towels and the shelf can be used for smaller items such as your face wash or shaving products.
You may not want all your personal items on show, especially when you have friends around. A better option is to buy a bathroom wall cabinet that can be placed above the sink, or set within the corner of the bathroom. The space above the sink is a better option as there is normally only a mirror attached to the wall. You can buy a cabinet that already has a mirror attached to the cabinet door. This way you can still use the mirror and be able to store your personal products inside the cabinet.
